INQ Cloud Touch – the Facebook phone

The Facebook phone exists, even if it is not wearing the famous social networking branding.

INQ Mobile has just released two versions of the “Facebook phone “, as we learn from their press release: the Touch Cloud and INQ Cloud Q. Both handsets are running Android 2.2 and will support the update to the Gingerbread that is coming soon. The difference between the Cloud Touch and the Cloud Q is that the first uses a 3.5-inch display HVGA, while the second model is based on a 2.6 inch display.

INQ Cloud Touch will arrive on the market in April (UK), while the INQ Cloud Q will be available in third quarter of this year. Here are the specifications of Cloud Touch:

  • CPU: Qualcomm 7227, 600MHz
  • Connectivity: triband HSPA, quadband GSM, EDGE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio
  • Display: 3.5 inch, HVGA, capacitive touchscreen
  • Memory: microSD slot
  • Camera: 5MP, autofocus
  • Battery: 1300mAh

The handset will have a 4GB microSD card, a charger, USB cable and stereo headset. It should be noted that both terminals will have a dedicated Home menu socializing via Facebook and always ready to show a feed of the latest status updates, photos, web pages and video clips.

XPERIA Arc – the thinnest phone in the world

The British retailer Play.com has finally released the official price of one of the most attractive terminal this year, at least in terms of design: the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc. The EXPERIA Arc is thinnest phone in the world, with a thickness of less than 8mm, and that will cost 533 euros, at least in the UK.

The handset is available for now through pre-order, and the price that applies is for non-subscription version, obviously. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc was announced at CES 2011, several weeks ago and has impressive specifications, including a Reality Display screen of 4.2-inch , a 8.1MP camera with support for 720p HD video capture, and HDMI out.

The XPERIA Arc runs Android 2.3 gingerbread, despite rumors stating that it could come even with Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. Sony Ericsson has not yet confirmed the price, or the release date, so we expect more details, perhaps before 2011 MWC.

Samsung Gem – an Android 2.1 phone

While we prepare to welcome the first tablet that uses Android 3.0 in February, there are some launches of the phones that use Android 2.1. This is the case of Samsung Gem, which you can admire below, a model known as the SCH-i100.

So far the device has been found only with Verizon branding, so it remains to be seen if we will see the Samsung Gem in Europe. The features of this handset include Swype keyboard, plus social functions via Samsung Social Hub and JAVA games. Here is the list of specifications Samsung Gem:

BlackBerry Storm 3 will be launched in September

The BlackBerry future phones  are spied on the Internet, these including a possible future hit: BlackBerry Storm 3, which you can see in the picture below:

The terminal will be the first BlackBerry with a display of 800 x 480 pixels, and its features include a 1.2GHz processor and an optical trackpad. LG Optimus 2X – the first dual-core processor smartphone in the world

After several weeks of speculation and appearances on the web, the LG dual-core terminal Star was officially announced by its manufacturer. The smartphone based on Nvidia Tegra 2 platform has a new branding, and it is known as LG Optimus 2X.

Under these conditions the purchase of a Samsung Nexus S seems no longer attractive, knowing that this phone will be launched next month in Korea and in Europe. The Nvidia Tegra platform 2 is a system-on-a-chip, which offers the advantages of a dual core CPU, high performance and low power consumption.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 will get the Android 2.1 update

Xperia X8 is following the example of other handsets from Sony Ericsson and receives updates for the Android 2.1, after that Xperia X10 mini and mini pro have already received the OS from Google. Note that the launch will be gradual, so you have to wait, if you have not already been notified that the software is available.

To find the customized code for your region, you will need to block the X8 screen, then press the Menu button (on the left, the screen will flash, but the phone will remain locked).

LG E-Note H1000B – a Windows 7 tablet

LG has officially announce a new tablet, based on Windows 7 and the Atom platform from Intel. The LG handset is called H1000B-Note and is available only in Korea for now, at a cost of 847 $.

The local operator KT is selling this tablet, which comes with the following specifications:

LG Versace Unique – a luxury phone with the price of a car

LG Unique Versace is the newest luxury phone made by LG and ModeLabs, the designers that collaborated on the development of this smartphone announced in May this year. The handset will initially debut in India, where it will costs as a car: about 10,000 $.

The LG Versace Unique is the first phone to wear the Versace brand and that is made from expensive materials such as 18K gold, ceramic, stainless steel, alligator leather and sapphire crystal (display). We do not have many details about the specifications of the handset, but we know that this luxury phone supports 3G, comes with a 5 megapixel camera and Dolby Mobile audio system.
