Nokia on Linux platform
Nokia is finally ready to launch N900 after a long period of time. The new Maemo 5 Internet Tablet will be soon in stores. Maemo Linux is used also in Nokia N800. It is a development platform for handheld devices. You can think Maemo as a desktop for handled device and it is modified version of Debian Linux. The specs for the new phone include a 3.5-inch 800×480 pixel (resistive) touchscreen, 32GB of on-board storage expandable to 48GB via microSD, sliding QWERTY, GPS/A-GPS, FM transmitter, WiFi, 1320mAh battery, TV-out, Bluetooth 2.1, plus a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual-LED flash. The great thing is that the phone has a Mozilla-based Maemo browser with Adobe Flash 9.4 support. It is said that the phone will be on the market in selected countries around October for €500.
