Intel and Nokia decided to be partners and to combine their Moblin and Maemo into a new Linux platform called the MeeGo. LG’s GW990 is probably the first device to based on the MeeGo. The GW990 has a long form factor packing a nice touchscreen. In terms of specs, it comes with 16GB of built-in flash memory and 512MB of RAM, with 720p video output possible should the 1020 x 480 screen resolution not be enough for you. The phone is sturdy and curved in all the right places, it’s an appealing device even if it suffers from a bit of an identity crisis.
