Next Google Nexus Will Come From Either LG or HTC

Google has already released two Nexus phones in the last few years and they are currently preparing to launch the third model from this line. The photo below is apparently of this third model.

The phone seems to be made by HTC if the look is any indication and there are no search/back/home/menu keys on it. The probably version of the OS is the next one to be released, which has the code name Ice Cream Sandwich.

While the photo doesn’t reveal too much information, it appears that there is also some info on its specs, which include Sprint CDMA and HDPA+ connectivity (meaning that it will probably show up on Sprint at first), a camera in the front and a launch date for December 2011.

The name of the phone is possible that it’s going to be Nexus 3, but the decision wasn’t made yet. The rumors so far say that either LG or HTC will be the company which builds the phone.

IDEOS X5 and X6 from Huawei

The Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer Huawei announced recently two new Android smartphones: IDEOS X5 and X6. The terminals are based on the Android 2.2 Froyo platform and support HSPA+ connectivity. This is how the X6 model looks:

This terminal comes with a large display, which reminds of the display of the Droid X. Here is the list of specifications:

CPU: Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon, 1GHz
Memory: 512MB RAM, 2GB ROM, microSD slot
Display: 4.1 inch, 800 x 480 pixels
Camera: 5 megapixel, autofocus, flash, video capture HD 720p

The IDEOS X5 model is rather from the mid-range category, with modest features:

This terminal will will be launched by the end of the year, and the X6 will be available in 2011.

The golden mobile phone from Mercedes

If you are passionate about the Mercedes-Benz brand, then you should take a look at BenzM9 mobile phone. The handset comes directly from China and is actually a mobile terminal placed in a gold color Mercedes car model.

The handset design is inspired by the famous look of the German cars, and as the pictures prove it. Unfortunately the Chinese manufacturer went overboard with this kitsch-Benz logo, which makes its appearance in too many places on the phone, even on the navigation trackpad. The phone spports quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band WCDMA/HSPA networks. No news on the price.

Pantech Android smartphone

Pantech introduces in Korea the Android smartphone. This is the SKY SIRIUS IM-A600S. SIRIUS is powered by SnapDragon 1GHz processor and gets 500MB internal memory. It comes with a niec 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen with 800×480 resolution, built-in T-DMB tuner, a 5 Megapixel camera with auto focus, WiFi, HDMI output and a microSD card slot. The SIRIUS IM-A600S runs Android 2.1. It will be available in Rose Gold, Titan and White.

AnyDATA is releasing two new Windows Mobile smartphones: the ASP-318 with quad-band GSM/EDGE support and the ASP-518 with support for 3G EVDO and GSM/CDMA dual mode. They use Windows mobile 6.5 Professional OS. The AnyDATA ASP-318 is features a ARM 416Mhz processor, 1GB of RAM and 2GB ROM. It has 3.2-inch 320×400 LCD touchscreen, a 3.2 Megapixel camera with auto focus, integrated GPS/A-GPS support, Bluetooth and WiFi. If someone was wondering how much Nexus One costs if you split it down into pieces, then they have their answer. iSuppli has made an estimation on the cost of the materials involved in making the phone. It seems that the parts alone cost $174.15. It seems that Google has tried to keep the price as close to the price of the materials, as possible. The most expensive part was the 1GHz Snapdragon ($30.50),and then the AMOLED display ($23.50) and memory ($20.40) from Samsung. The Bluetooth transceiver costs cost $8.20 and $12.50 on a 5 megapixel camera.
