A few weeks ago we say Toshiba’s new TG02 handset. The SPB Software has now gotten fully official with SPB Mobile Shell 5.0. This will now be available to consumers and OEMs alike. The big news is that SPB has added support for both Android and Symbian in addition to Windows Mobile. This means the consumers will now be able to take full advantage of a spiffy new 3D engine and a new “natural interaction engine” with full multitouch support. Besides this, other additions include some 3D widgets, and an array of tightly integrated social networking features like Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin. Still no indication of a price or release date.

It seems that mobile hardware and software manufacturers are putting all their efforts into creating devices and programs that go hand in hand with the social networking. Intel just announced they will produce a new version of Moblin designed for phones, running on an Atom-based phone. The interface has plenty of widget-based social networking integration, as well as a panels-based navigation system which are perfect for going through multiple applications. Right now, we do not have any information about any shipping date but we shall keep you posted.

LG just announced the GW620 (aka Etna). This is going to be the first LG Android based smartphone. The cool device has a 3-inch touchscreen display and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, plus a easy to use 5 Megapixel camera. On the outside, the phone looks more like the GW620 is an entry-level phone and has kind of standard Android OS without much modifications unlike the competitors unlike Motorola’s CLIQ and HTC’s Hero. Just in time for holidays this phone will be in select Europe markets.

We are used to talking about phones from their technical specification’s perspective. But from time to time, the design of one phone stands out form the crowd. It is the case now with the red K6 telephone that looks like the phone booths from the streets of London. It is called London Calling Mobile Phone and despite the toy looking design, it is a fully-functional handset, with color LCD, SMS and MMS functionality and a tri-band GSM connectivity. The phone has some and pre-programmed ring tones like “Rule Britannia” and “God Save the Queen. Its price is about £85.95 ($141) and it is available for pre-orders.

Modu is finally launching the long-awaited, self-titled handset. It’s doing that in just a couple of days. So far, the launching details are kept in the dark, as a surprise. However, it is stated that the phone will be on sale, in Israel, starting this Wednesday (July 22nd). The price will be 500 Israeli shekels which mean around $130. In just a couple of days we will see if the touchscreen Modu is a reality or just a marketing rumor.

I have found myself many times wanting for a harder phone that won’t crack no matter what I place on it or how high I drop it from. There are hundreds of iPhone cases, one nicer than the other. It is hard to choose from. But still, i think i have found exactly what I was looking for! The handcrafted EXOvault is case made of all-metal sheaths. You can order it in brass, aluminum, and even titanium. It looks really cool and it can be a fashion statement for many people. The case costs around $95 / $95 / $300 (the bigger price is for the titanium casing). Have fun!

RIM is surely expanding the reach of the App World and they are considering 10 more countries till the end of the month. These countries are: France, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, and also the Netherlands. This means that the company will be adding language support for all these nations. The number of languages being added is still unknown but it is safe to say it will include Italian, French, German and Spanish. Besides that, RIM also wants to add new software categories in order to make your searched easier. Support for URL’s will also be added. When it will be opened from your browser, it will go straight on the app’s page in App World. In the next few weeks we shall know more details about this.
